1.2. What is EMC², and how does it work?

EMC² meaning Empathy, Mindfulness, Critical Inquiry and Compassion is like the four corners of a sturdy table. Developed by UNESCO MGIEP, it’s a framework designed to balance critical thinking with emotional skills. Think of it as a compass guiding learners to be thoughtful, compassionate problem-solvers. When we mix arts with SEL using the EMC² framework, we’re not just teaching facts, we’re nurturing thinkers, creators, and change-makers.
